Flip Fest!

Yesterday was one of 4 competitions for tumbling that Megan trains for all year. She could eat, sleep, and breathe tumbling. She did a great job on her floor passes and then the most nerve-racking part is waiting for her name to be called during the awards ceremony. Megan had tested positive for a strep throat on Friday morning so we weren't exactly sure how well she would do. (Thank heavens for quick strep tests and "giant" shots that get rid of contagious infections quickly.)

For the first time she got 1st place in her age group. It is actually her standing in the #1 position. Megan is not humble about how good she thinks she is and I guess the judges thought yesterday was finally her day. We were just happy she landed on her feet and enjoyed running down the mats. Maybe the new leotard made the difference or it could be she just tries really hard.

Megan wasn't happy that Wendell made her stand for a picture all by herself, but we never know if this will ever happen again. She didn't do as well on double-mini. She ended up landing out of bounds so she came in 11th. I'm just glad she tries on the double-mini and competes. It was a fun day. Congratulations MeMe!
