All Fired Up!

And a week later our painting turned out great! Here is Megan's fired dish. Tyler's skull turned out better than we imagined looking at the paint before the firing.
And Emily was very happy with her shiny cupcake. It really was a fun thing to do and then see the results.

Murder Party!

Mammy hosted a murder party for us all this Halloween. We all arrived in costume ready to start accusing. That is of course after we ate.
There were lots of exotic named niblets for our eating pleasure. This is the group. We had a mummy, a cannibal, a devil, fortune teller, monsters, witches, a pirate, a princess, a scary dentist, and of course Cinderella.
Mark ended up being the murderer much to Tyler and Cade's dismay. They really wanted that part. It was a fun night to dress up and solve a mystery. We can't wait for next year.

Annual Halloween Carving Party!

Halloween would not be complete without our carving party with the Clarks and Hunsakers. Scott brought over his heater so we could do it in the garage and leave the mess outside.
It's always fun to see how everyone will carve their pumpkin.
Notice how Megan's green pumpkin started to turn orange. She was a little disappointed it started to ripen.

Emily did a cute hat on hers.
And here are the finished products. Not bad for a bunch of kids. Bring on the candy now.

Fall Saturday!

On a very rainy, cold Saturday a couple of weeks ago, Wendell was able to get football tickets. The lucky part was it was for the suite. We felt a little guilty sitting in the warm, dry room watching the game, but not enough to leave.
The kids had a great time eating and the adults were just happy we were dry. Weber even won the game which was even better.
After the game, we headed to Color Me Mine. We have heard many people love it and Jeff had a coupon which made it that much better. Emily really concentrated on getting her cupcake to look perfect.
Tyler brought a friend along and they chose skulls to paint.
The group of painters. Our favorite part was when Tyler's friend called his dad to ask if he could go do pottery with Tyler. The Dad didn't even ask what or why. I guess asking to do pottery isn't that strange for a 10-year-old.

Megan made a dish for her earrings.

Emily's final painted product. We'll post the firing results later. It was a busy day, but a good way to spend a rainy afternoon and night.

Fishing Buddies!

Wendell has recruited Tyler as his fishing buddy. Luckily, Tyler likes it just as much as Wendell.
Tyler proved to be a mighty fisherman. He caught 2 fish. The only ones that were big enough to eat.
Tyler was a little apprehensive to touch the fish at first, but then was proud to show it off once he got past the slimy feel.
We cooked up the fish and they were yummy! Good job!

UEA Weekend

To celebrate the days off school, Wendell's Birthday, and the warm weather, we went to stay a night at the Homestead in Heber. The kids were fascinated by the natural diving pond, but didn't want to even attempt getting in the water.
We all loved the scarecrow festival that was displayed on the lawns of the hotel.

Some were very creative.

There were also tons of pumpkins all over. Perfect for posing for pictures.

We finally just had to quit taking pictures or Megan and Emily would have posed all night.

The pool and cable TV are always the best things about any hotel.

The kids especially liked that the hot tub was so accessible to the pool.

During the break we also went to a pumpkin patch with the Hunsakers.

They all waited patiently to get on the tractor to head to the fields of pumpkins.

It is always a challenge each year to find the biggest in the patch.

Tyler shows off his prized pumpkin.

Emily could barely carry hers.

On the wagon headed back with all our finds.

Megan was really proud of her green pumpkin.

The weather was so nice that weekend the kids were able to get more outside playing in before coats and boots are required. I love UEA and the Fall. It was a fun time to have the kids off school and celebrate Wendell turning another year older.

Goal!

After trying all summer to get a day, Tyler, Megan, and Cade were finally able to go with Jeff and Taycina to a Real soccer game.
The night was really warm for the end of September and they all had a great time. They got their tickets from KFC and were supposed to wear the buckets as hats. Good thing Megan is always up for things like that. Wendell even missed Weber's homecoming football game to see the soccer game.
Emily stayed home with me and went out to dinner and a play with Mammy. She then entertained herself with Sarah and shaving cream. She thought she got the better deal.
